Early on, Chris Jaswell was an entrepreneur. At the ripe old age of 12, he saw a demand for candy apples so he started making them on his parents’ stove. Many years (we won’t say how many!!) later, that endeavor has transcended into a product line that has taken on a life of its own. Each one of our candy apples is made by hand with the finest quality ingredients. We make them on a daily basis to ensure freshness. Each has it's own storage and shelf life information as well as serving suggestion. Our candy apples are best enjoyed right away and make wonderful treats; party favors; and/or gifts for even the most distinguished palate!

 

Although we’ve been expanding and improving our candy apple line over the last twenty-five years, it was a spot on Foodnetwork that gained us national exposure. We were approached by an L.A. production company in the summer of 2006 to appear on a segment called “The Secret Life of Halloween.” On it, we showcased some of our most popular candy and gourmet apples and had a lot of fun doing it!! During the candy apple season we make several different varieties. The first is our traditional red candy. It is a tart Jaswell apple coated with a hard cherry candy. The combination of sweet and tart flavors is sure to please the kid in all of us. While these are one of the most popular, they have the shortest shelf life. They do not ship well because their candy damages easily and they melt quickly. We make a small amount each day, concentrating on having more available on the weekends. If you wish to have them put aside, please feel free to call ahead.

 

The second is our caramel apple. We take a sound Jaswell apple and coat it with creamy caramel and put a light layer of colored sprinkles on the bottom. The caramel can get firm if stored in the refrigerator, so we always suggest leaving the apple out for a little while so you can bite right in!

 

Our third variety is our second with and additional layer! We take our superb caramel apples and cover them with delicious milk chocolate. Although many enjoy with rapid (and large) bites; these are best sliced after sitting out from the refrigerator for a while.

 

Finally we offer our decadent gourmet apples. We take a choice Jaswell apple (usually Honeycrisp) and cover it in our creamy caramel, roll it the selected topping and then smother it with Belgium milk chocolate. As a finishing touch, we drizzle white chocolate over the top to decorate our masterpiece! The apples are close to 6 inches in diameter weigh close to 2 pounds each when complete!! It is best to leave these out of the fridge for a few hours before serving. Once they reach room temperature, slice into large wedges and share (or not!). We make several varieties on a regular basis and seasonal specials throughout the season. Our regular varieties are done with milk chocolate, but we offer dark chocolate by special order for an additional fee. Also, we offer seasonal specials that may be unique. We can accommodate other special requests and orders as well.

 

Our individual sized apples make terrific party favors and have become a popular wedding favor. The gourmet apples make fabulous gifts and we do make throughout the year. We encourage you to call for more information and pricing.
