“Thank you for the fruit baskets. They were a big hit at our corporate outing. I appreciate the discount you gave us do to the large quantity we ordered. Thank you for getting them done in such a short notice. We will be using your services in the future. I have referred you to some of the other businesses we work with. - Thomas Coccia.”
Summer has finally arrived and all is growing and ready to be harvested here on the farm!! All of our 2010 crops have been planted and/or are growing and we are anticipating a fabulous season.
Blueberries are in peak season and they have been BEAUTIFUL!! This year’s crop is phenomenal in size, quality and quantity. We started picking in early July and it looks as though they will continue throughout the month of August and beyond. We are open daily (weather and supply permitting) for picking from 8AM – 5PM, but we always recommend calling (401)231-9043 before you head out for the most current picking conditions.
We have started picking our own butter and sugar sweet corn and TOMATOES!! The summer veggies have been great and we expect to pick well into the fall. We are currently picking cucumbers, pickling cukes, zucchini, summer squash, eggplant, green peppers, romaine lettuce, parsley, basil as well as the corn and tomatoes. We also have a wide selection of locally grown items like radishes and beets. For those people who don’t want to pick their own blueberries, we have a great selection fresh picked in the store. Blackberries have just started and we are now selling fresh picked peaches. Our summer apple crop should be ready in a few weeks, but pick your own apples will not start until after Labor Day.
Our farmstand is still full of fresh produce that arrives daily from various suppliers. The bakery is in full swing and is offering fresh baked fruit pies, pastries, muffins and so much more. We have a full line of prepackaged baking mixes, preserves, dressings and relishes. Stop in for a gourmet coffee or a treat from our bakery case. We are still making our award winning apple cider and it is available along with Rhody Fresh milk and eggs. Cabot cheeses are available and we now have fresh honey from the hives that were here during our pollination time earlier this spring.
We are glad that summer is finally here and look forward to all that is has to offer! As the summer progresses, we will have more produce to offer. Please remember many of our products can be ordered in larger quantities at a reduced cost. As always, call ahead to get the most current information (401)231-9043. Our farmstand and bakery is open daily from 8am – 5pm starting May 22nd and we will be open until December 24th! We look forward to seeing you this season and are thankful for the opportunity to continue the family tradition.
